Mixed

A THERAPEUTIC PROCESS GROUP FOR teens (13-18) WHO IDENTIFY AS MIXED-RACE/BI-RACIAL/MULTI-RACIAL

YOU BELONG HERE

YOU BELONG HERE ✦

THIS IS A SPACE FOR ADOLESCENTS WITH MIXED/BI-RACIAL/MULTI-RACIAL HERITAGE TO COME TOGETHER TO PROCESS THE EMOTIONS, COMPLEXITIES, AND CHALLENGES FACED IN DAILY LIFE HERE IN SANTA CRUZ. THIS GROUP IS A PLACE FOR THOSE THAT ARE TYPICALLY “OTHERED” TO FEEL BELONGING.

BEING MIXED RACE IN AMERICA IS OFTEN AN LONELY EXPERIENCE. AND RESIDING IN THE BUBBLE THAT IS SANTA CRUZ CAN FEEL EVEN MORE ISOLATING.

OUR MOST PROFOUND HEALING IS DONE IN RELATIONSHIPS… WHETHER THAT BE WITH OTHER MEMBERS YOU MEET, THE THERAPIST GUIDING YOU THROUGH, OR THE RELATIONSHIP YOU HAVE WITH YOURSELF. WE WILL CREATE A CONTAINER TO CONNECT AND TO HEAL TOGETHER.

GROUP FACILITATOR

ALLI WILSON

AMFT143172

SUPERVISED BY DR. TIM BAIMA MFT50372

Alli Wilson (she/her), an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, identifies as a multi-racial Black woman. Growing up as a mixed person, she quickly became well aware of the many unique, nuanced complexities people with multi-racial identities must navigate. Being deemed “not enough” by some and “too much” by others, made her question her own identity at a young age. She entered the mental health field to facilitate change and healing in people, especially those with marginalized identities. Her aim with this group is to bring together those on the margins of the marginalized, in order to provide a healing space for growth and resilience.
